Here is an end-of-year topic – Eugene area non-profits.
A series of questions about prominent Eugene-area local non-profits were asked. There is no representation that this is a comprehensive list.
While the results show many interesting features, there a a few highlights.
First, Eugeneans generally like their charities.
Second, Food for Lane County is the best known at 98 percent closely followed by St. Vincent de Paul at 95 percent. This is within the margin of error.
Third, St. Vincent de Paul has the highest net favorable (favorable minus unfavorable) rating at 91 percent closely followed by Food for Lane County at 90 percent.
Both St. Vincent de Paul and Food for Lane County are far ahead of all the other non-profits tested in awareness, total favorables, and net favorables.
As an aside, The Relief Nursery had zero unfavorable mentions. This is extremely rare. Usually someone in Eugene is critical of something.

The Right Direction/Wrong Track measure took a significant turn for the worse between September and December.

Eugene economic growth continues to be seen as “too slow.” This seems to be a long-term characteristic of the recession.

This post looks back at Eugene’s May 2011 school income tax measure. This polling makes it clear that the income tax was always pretty far from passage. The “yes” percentage never passed 43 percent.

Eugene voters continue to strongly support repairing the streets. The wildly successful 2008 bond was originally brought up by the Torrey for Mayor campaign. This is a long-term winning issue in Eugene.

Support for the West 11th EmX Bus Rapid Transit line continues its drop from June 2011 levels. It is currently down by nearly 20 points citywide.
